At 4:46 p.m., detectives of the Special Investigations Section arrested Daniele Tuitt in possession of a loaded handgun, police said.
Detective Alberto Valles was conducting surveillance when he observed Tuitt crossing Route 30 near North Carolina Avenue. While Tuitt was walking, Valles reportedly observed him remove a handgun from his waistband and then put it back, police said.
Tuitt was arrested without incident. The handgun was found to contain hollow-point ammunition is a large capacity magazine, police said.
Tuitt was charged with several weapons offenses.
He was being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
